Weekly New York Minutes #23

Every Friday (but this week delayed until Sunday!) I feature some fleeting moments from my week that made me stop and think, “I’m so lucky to live in NYC!” And maybe some that made me think, “Bahaha this city is ridiculous and I love it.” Here we go for this solstice week…

Space is precious in Manhattan. I love how this brownstone in Greenwich Village has made the most of their “shoe box front yard” complete with a garden, tree, and lounge chair. They certainly make the most of what they have!

Passing through Grand Central on Saturday, 4 gals all dressed the same walked by me. In another time, they would have been much to scantily clad for Grand Central Station but in 2018 they were basically as modest as your average summer outfit. I have no clue where they were going but it’s fun to imagine! A pin-up photoshoot? A burlesque show? A dance recital?

Spotted a guy on the subway who had a Tweety Bird tattoo and couldn’t help but giggle to myself and snap a blurry photo. I just recently blogged about the episode of Sex and the City where Carrie dates a guy with this exact tattoo! I couldn’t help but wonder…did this subway dude get his Tweety tattoo as a reference to that episode?? Kinda regretting I didn’t ask!

I found another Dogman and Rabbitgirl sculpture! Looks like a lot has happened since that awkward coffee date! Now their at Industry City in Brooklyn, riding an ass in the nude (yeah…if you want to look close you’ll see Dogman’s…manhood. It’s awkward)…

NYC is ready for Pride this weekend! Rainbows are everywhere, especially along the 5th Avenue Sunday parade route where I saw this quartet. Oh so grateful how diverse, beautiful, and accepting this NYC is every single day. Are you going to Pride this weekend? See what the parade is like from my previous blog posts: Pride 2016 (right after Pulse massacre) and Pride 2015 (right after marriage equality passed).

Those were fun little moments of my week! It got much better after my emotional roller coaster on Tuesday! Thanks all who reached out about that. Also a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to my Patreon page, it means so much to me! I’ll be getting rewards in order and posting next week!
