The shops on 5th Avenue in New York City go all out for the holiday season. A trip to see the holiday windows is considered a MUST of Christmas time in New York. I’ll be sharing some of the best store displays this year, starting with Bergdorf Goodman.
Berdorf’s, easily the most unique and luxury department store in NYC, always has my favorite holiday windows. This year the theme was New York Institutions. Of course I love it, it’s literally titled:
“To New York With Love” : the 2017 Holiday Windows at Bergdorf Goodman
New York Philharmonic
The neon lights of the instruments pulse on and off, perfectly capturing a rhythm of an orchestra.
There is so much color and creativity in every window. I love how they are so different yet fit together perfectly. Unlike most holiday window displays, Bergdorf Goodman features clothing they actually sell inside the store (usually couture thousands of dollars outside my price range!)
New York Historical Society
Love the antique, artifact feel here.
New York Botanical Garden
Makes me want to visit again! The NYBG has a beautiful conservatory that’s perfect for a warm winter walk in the park!
Museum of the Moving Image
I love how these windows remind me of all the fun things I should do this winter! There’s a new permanent Jim Henson exhibit at the Museum of the Moving Image and I’ve been waiting for a cold rainy/snowy day to go Queens and check it out!
American Museum of Natural History
How can you look at this and not want to run to the museum to see the dinosaurs? Here they are twinkling in thousands of Swarovski crystals.
Such a show stopper!
In December, I reckon the displays at Bergdorf Goodman get more eyes on them than the galleries at the MoMA. They’re definitely worth braving the crowds to see for yourself if you’re in the area!
Which window display was your favorite? If you wand to see what these window have looked like in years past, click for 2013, 2014, and 2015 (I missed last year!)
This looks so fun! I loved your tips! I would love your thoughts on my latest blog post:

Wow! The windows looked really nice. For favorite, I would vote for the Historical Society. JAM and I haven’t been here yet, but window shopping is definitely on our list.
