Every Friday I feature some fleeting moments from my week that made me stop and think, “I’m so lucky to live in NYC!” And maybe some that made me think, “Bahaha this city is ridiculous and I love it.” Here we go for this 4th of July holiday week…
Spotted this little dinosaur just hanging out at a construction site in Brooklyn, sporting the hippest hair-do! Is he art or a lost toy? It’s anyone’s guess!
NYC is full of CURB YOUR DOG signs, but this one on the street in Soho #StreetPSA is the best I’ve ever seen!
I didn’t try very hard to watch the fireworks this year…but I did sit in Fort Greene in Brooklyn and got a satisfying glimpse of them! Just a taste, that’s all I needed to make the loud booms worth it. This is a paltry photo, so I should tell you the yellow dots of light are street lamps and the red in the middle is a firework!
There’s a stretch just east of Broadway on Prince Street in Soho, where several shops have recently closed. As the real estate waits to be rented to the highest retail bidder, artists set up rogue street galleries selling art. It’s really lovely and a reminder of what the neighborhood was before it became known for shopping.
I was is Soho a lot this week and I saw so many more Phoebes to add to the collection I started last week!
