My favorite time of year to hang out in Chelsea Market is Halloween.

This witch totes agrees with me.

It can be hard to find Halloween decorations in NYC, but Chelsea Market never disappoints.

This Manhattan shopping destination goes all out with creepy Halloween decorations. So many spooky ghouls hanging from the ceiling and peeping our from corners!

Chelsea Market Halloween

If you’ve never been to Chelsea Market, I’d describe it as a Foodie Mall. The building stretches an entire block of NYC, from 8th Avenue to 9th, 15th Street to 16th. It used to be a factory but now the ground floor has dozens of restaurants and artisanal groceries, dispersed with unique gift shops and often a sample sale or two. It’s always a good place to go if you need a bite to eat, a unique gift, or just need a public rest room under the High Line!

Chelsea Market is of the best Halloween destinations in Manhattan.

They don’t hold back here! Bring a little child to Chelsea Market for a brownie from Fat Witch and they may very well run out screaming thanks to skeletons, clowns, and other harder to explain terrors-

Chelsea Market Halloween Thrills

This scary clown is totally leering at the Fat Witch mascot.

Dude! In this political climate?!

His buddy here might actually be more scared of me than I am of him though.

Sorry, Clown-bro, your “crazy eyes” got nothin’ on mine!

This gal is a New York cliché NIGHTMARE with a rat coming out of her mouth!

It looks like the ones you often see scurrying across the subway tracks… I couldn’t help but wonder is the wound on her neck from getting run over by a train?? Is this the MTA’s fault?!

This severed foot hanging from the ceiling…

Is just the reminder I needed to book a pedicure before my toes get scary. Thanks, Chelsea Market!

Hmmm…because it’s Halloween it can be hard to tell… This might be a display of the beautiful, organic produce one can find at Chelsea Market…

OR a vegetable merchant is trying to get in on the fun.

“This cauliflower looks like brains! BRAINS!!!”

If you want to see some A+ Halloween decorations while you shop, scare the pants off your kid, or grab a delicious bite to eat while disembodied heads hang over you- get to Chelsea Market this week! Next week they even have themed events including pumpkin carving and trick-or-treating that you can learn all about on their website here.

  1. I saw these and I loved them! But like, is that big Italian market closed now??? The one that used to sell the comically enormous jugs of Nutella? I loved that place! It’s changed SO MUCH there over the years. Also, there’s ALWAYS severed feet hidden in Chelsea Market, so I love that they put an OBVIOUS one on display for Halloween!
