New York City is known for being an incredibly expensive city.

But even in 2018, you can still get 10 NYC postcards for a dollar.

Shocking, right? How is anything still this cheap?

A lot has changed in the 10 years I’ve lived in NYC. But inflation hasn’t touched the dollar slice or souvenir snail mail markets.

Yes, I know what you’re thinking, who sends postcards anymore? Especially when you can post 100+ photos on Instagram that you took for free??

There’s just something about postcards that I will always love. Maybe because the stamps feel like their on sale. Maybe because it’s such a small gesture but still so special. I spent the summers of my youth on month-long family vacations, missing my friends and writing them postcards. Maybe postcards were my original blog posts…
