New Yorkers love our bodegas. These corner markets are so intrinsic to NYC life, we’ll defend them like a member of our family. Bodegas are THERE for us. They wake us up in the morning (with the best bacon, egg, and cheese), help us in times of crisis (TOILET PAPER), and even tuck us in at night (with a pack of cigarettes at 3AM on a drunken Saturday). We trust them with our secrets (emergency condoms and/or cat food).
New York Cliché of the Day: Shopping and Romance at the Bryant Park Holiday Market
New York City is known as a shopping destination year round. The shopping scene naturally peaks every holiday season, with pop-up shops and festive holiday markets. My favorite is the Bryant Park Holiday Market. It’s so full of cheer with unique gifts, an outdoor bar, and (most importantly?) FREE ICE SKATING!
Ok, the ice skating is in fact free, but the skate rental is not. That’s “the catch”. Still, it’s completely worth it, smack in the heart of Manhattan with views of the Empire State Building and the New York Public Library.
A night at the Bryant Park Holiday Market is definitely my favorite Date Idea for the NYC holiday season.
[Replay Cliché] The Passing Fantasies Of A Hopeless Romantic
Originally posted December 2013. One of my all time favorite posts, I hope you like it too.
Yesterday I noticed a man on the street waiting for the light to change.
“He’s cute,” I thought and smiled in spite of myself. I couldn’t help it.
“You noticed a cute guy!” I patted myself on the back, “I’m so proud of you! This is a great step! Maybe now that the weather has chilled and the cold (and cuddle) season is upon us, you’re ready to come out of dating hibernation!”
We stood at the cross walk together, this stranger and I. Side by side, I basked in the vague flutters of attractions that have long lain dormant while he remained completely unaware of my existence. I rather liked it that way. So far, so safe.

Go on Google Maps and you’ll see art yet again, completely different! Same corner, completely different vibe, always awesome art. Read More
New York Cliche of the Day: Nothing is More Stunning than the NYC Skyline (and Headaches Suck)
The New York City skyline is spectacular. I was lucky enough to take it in on what could be one of the last warm days of 2017!
I discovered this wooden path that bridges Brooklyn Heights with Brooklyn Bridge Park. I love discovering new paths in places I’ve been dozens of times before!

New York Cliché of the Day: A Cheesy Case of Hipster Or Homeless
I’m walking home on a Thursday night, down my dark, windy street in Brooklyn. It’s not too late, but the chill of the night some how makes it feel later than it is. There aren’t many people on this street or businesses that stay open after 8PM, definitely a change from my old Manhattan neighborhood.
As is customary for the millennial New Yorker, I have my headphones in, listening to a podcast. What podcast, you ask? Oh, just a little podcast about murders. Ya know, tooootes normal and soooo advisable to listen to while walking home on a dark, blustery night with dead leaves swirling around my feet…
