New York Cliché of the Day: NYC Vegan Bakery Sweets by CHLOE

New York City has a wide array of vegan options. It’s the perfect city to dabble with cutting animals out of your diet. There are a handful of vegan bakeries all over the city that offer amazing treats that you’d never guess contain no butter, eggs, or milk.

Sweets by CHLOE on Bleecker Street offers 100% vegan desserts that are 100% delicious.

If you have dubious thoughts about veganism, “It can’t taste as good“, CHLOE set up shop in Greenwich Village to prove you wrong!

This is a Chocolate Whiskey Cupcake. I held it in my hand and identified it as the ULTIMATE device for converting “I could never date a vegan” bros! Vegans of New York, bring a Sweets by CHLOE cupcake on all your first dates and you’ll never hear, “Veganism is a deal breaker” ever again!

This face might be a dating deal breaker, but not veganism!

Sweets by CHLOE isn’t just for vegans. It’s a great little bakery for anyone! Well, for anyone who isn’t allergic  to nuts – beware they do use a lot of nut milks in their products.

The city’s vegan bakeries are perfect for 3 types of New Yorkers especially:

1. People who have sworn off all animal products. Carbon footprint warriors!

2. People (like me) who are trying to cut back on meat but haven’t committed whole hog to vegetarianism.

3. People (also like me) who like pretend that vegan automatically means healthy!

If you identify with any of the 3, check out Sweets by CHLOE on Bleecker Street. The bakery is right next to by CHLOE restaurant – a vegan of Shake Shack– where you can get vegan burgers and fries and other fast food delights.

What are your thoughts on veganism? I’m definitely trying to cut back on meat and enjoy exploring different options! I don’t personally feel the need to cut it out entirely, but I respect people who do. Would you date a vegan? Have you ever had an yummy dessert or meal you’d never guess was vegan? Or are you a GIMMIE STEAK OR GIMMIE DEATH kind of soul?

  1. Before moving to NYC I was the give me meat kinda person. Living here has opened my mind to so many new things. Gotta go try these yummy desserts!

  2. I’ve been a vegetarian for decades, but full on vegan I am not! However, absolutely love the Chloe salads, and definitely want to try their baked goods!

And good for you for cutting back on meat! Another huge perk is that eating vegetarian at home is a lot less expensive than buying meat on the regular–something all us New Yorkers can get excited about!;-)

  3. We’re not vegans and have nothing against anyone who is, we’ve tried vegan foods and we can’t really complain. I do love that more places are now equipt to provide more options for vegans and free-froms and we’re all for it, especially when they look that good!

  8. Wow, I love this take on vegan treats! 🍫🧁 I’ve tried a few vegan desserts that honestly blew my mind—like a chocolate mousse made with avocado that was chef’s kiss! I’m not vegan, but I’m all about exploring different options, and if something tastes amazing, who cares what’s in it? Also, those Chocolate Whiskey Cupcakes sound like the ultimate date flex—delicious and a conversation starter! Would I date a vegan? Absolutely, as long as they don’t judge my occasional steak cravings. Balance, right? 😄
