New Year, New York Minutes #41

Now that I’m back on the blog wagon (blagon?), every Friday I will feature some fleeting moments from my week that made me stop and think, “I’m so lucky to live in NYC!” And maybe some that made me think, “Bahaha this city is ridiculous and I love it.” I succeeded in posting 40 of these in 2018! Here we go for #41 of the series and the first of 2019!

It’s the most gloomy-gray time of the year…and I am so grateful for anyone who has found a way to appropriately keep their twinkle lights up past the holiday season. This twinkling peace sign in Chelsea is exactly what I need to see as long as the days are short and darkness falls before 5PM.

Left work early on Wednesday and was rewarded with this glorious sunset and city scene on 6th Avenue.

Eataly’s rooftop bar SERRA is clearly with me on TEAM TWINKLE too. Lights and the delicate paper decorations cover the ceiling and they are staying up until March! Finally, a Winter Wonderland that actually lasts through winter! It’s easy to hibernate indoors, especially when it gets as cold as it did the past week, but I had to check out this magical and very crowded NYC Winter Must. Go for lunch if you can to avoid epic wait times!

See? This is my winter struggle! How am I supposed to every leave the house when my boyfriend makes brunch this good? Not to brag (i.e. totally bragging) but that’s salmon and a poached egg on toast, asparagus on the side. It tasted even better than it looks. Sometimes I post his meals on Instagram and people literally comment “Looks Amazing! What restaurant?” and I feel the EPITOME of smug that I don’t have to brave the cold (or put on pants) to eat this good.

Those are some fun little moments from my week, how was yours? I’m supposed to go ice skating tomorrow for my fella’s birthday but a winter storm is on the forecast which may force us to retreat into hibernation! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, stay safe and warm, and thanks for reading!
