Weekly New York Minutes #28

Every Friday I feature some fleeting moments from my week that made me stop and think, “I’m so lucky to live in NYC!” And maybe some that made me think, “Bahaha this city is ridiculous and I love it.” Here we go for this wolf week (the sum of seven dog days) of August…

At the Franklin Avenue subway stop in Brooklyn, there is a tiny but poignant tribute to the queen.

Finally making it to Smorgasburg on my last Sunday as an official Brooklynite. This NYC outdoor food mecca has been just blocks from my house, in Prospect Park all summer. I couldn’t leave Brooklyn without finally going, rain be damned!

Seeing the Off Broadway hit of the season! When a friend asks if I want their extra ticket to an Off Broadway show, I always say yes. That’s how I ended up in an audience full of excited tweens and teens on Wednesday night this week, watching a performance of the sold out musical “Be More Chill”. My friend Charlotte, who got the tickets, knew the musical had a cult following, but she had no idea the fans were so young! It was a fun show, though I wouldn’t exactly recommend it…unless you want to sit in an audience and feel really, really old! I’ve never felt more old than at this musical! I need to quickly get tickets to a Broadway matinee (where everyone is a tourist or geriatric) so I can feel like a girl again!

That’s all I got for this week, folks! Have a great weekend!!! Wish me luck with my move!
