The 2nd Most Wonderful Time of the Year? Springtime at Rockefeller Center

Controversial opinion: I think springtime gives Christmas time a run for the title of Most Wonderful Time of the Year. The magical feeling without the stress of so many shopping and social obligations! It’s wonderful!

Did you know Rockefeller Center, perhaps the most iconic Christmas place in America, gets festive for springtime too?

Rockefeller Center Spring!

The Rockefeller Christmas tree is long gone and alas, they do not bring in a giant cherry tree covered in pink blossoms.

Often a large pubic art installation will be displayed in the area where the Christmas tree stands. Haven’t heard of any thing for this year though! Previous art can be seen here.

The ice skating rink closes for the season every April, always after Easter. They turn the rink area into outdoor seating- something no New Yorker can get enough when the temperature is a perfect spring high 60s/low 70s.

No mater what time of year it is, Rockefeller Center is great at capturing the magic of the season!
