Calle Ocho Holds a Critical New York Cliché Title: My Favorite Bottomless Brunch in NYC

One of the absolute worst experiences you can have in NYC is trying to find a place to live here. I am currently apartment hunting and my stomach is in knots of stress ever day. The only thing that makes it feel better? Drinking heavily. That’s where my favorite bottomless brunch of all time becomes imperative!

Brunch at Calle Ocho on the Upper West Side

Calle Ocho is a a latin restaurant on 81st Street near Central Park. All their food has a latin flavor, their bread baskets are next level with amazing sweet latin cheesy breads, but the best part is their drink menu. Unlike your typical New York cliché brunch mimosas and Bloody Marys, Calle Ocho offers bottomless sangria in EIGHT different flavors!

It’s impossible to try them all, especially if you’re a lightweight like me, unless you get a little help from your friends! Between the four of us, we were definitely up for the challenge.

Favorites included the lychee infused white Havana Banana and the spicy cinnamon, sooo NY Spanish Harlem. But truly, every sangria on the menu is delicious, refreshing, and will leave you sloshed by the end of your meal.

We were so sauced by the end, we asked if we could have the untouched bread basket from a neighboring table. I highly recommend this. I also recommend the Cachapa Con Salmon if you want something a bit more traditionally brunch, with eggs or the Ensalda De Langosta which means “lobster salad”. I’m a weirdo who absolutely loves salads, but they are never my go-to for brunch. This was maybe the best salad I’ve ever had, with a delightful variety of textures and amazing citrus flavor. Plus, who doesn’t love lobster?

Especially when the price of every entrée is $29.95, and that includes all-you-can-drink sangria! Seriously one of the best brunch deals in town. This place is so popular, you  generally have to book a brunch reservation at least a month in advance. Booking that far in advance is not usually my style, but Calle Ocho is worth it. 1. I love a good bottomless brunch! Food looks awesome!

When we were in NYC we did the Sunday Brunch at BB Kings with the Harlem Gospel Choir. It was incredible! Food was great, choir was great! We loved it. You should definitely check it out if you haven’t done it. A bit pricier than this one though!

  2. I’m a huge fan of an excellent bottomless brunch, and the food here looks amazing.During our visit to NYC, we experienced the Sunday Brunch at BB Kings, featuring the Harlem Gospel Choir, and it was phenomenal! Both the food and the choir were outstanding. We absolutely enjoyed it. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend it. It’s a bit more expensive than this one, but definitely worth it!
