I’m switching things up on the blog here, post-vacation, and taking on a more manageable blogging schedule of 5 days a week rather than the full 7. Just because I’m blogging about the city that never sleeps need not mean no sleep ’til Brooklyn for me! So let’s welcome the switch-a-roo from Saturday Street Art to Street Art Tuesday!
Here’s some of the eye catching street art I saw in San Francisco while on vacation last weekend.
A Small Sampling of San Francisco Street Art
On Haight Street you’ll find plenty of murals throwing back to the hippy era the neighborhood is still known for.
Locals paint their own street art in San Francisco – many buildings are colorful and a handful even feature murals.
San Francisco clichés in Hayes Valley!
A Terracotta Army above the streets of Chinatown…
I kept running out of space and having to delete things on my camera. Unfortunately street art was often the first to be sacrificed so there are many amazing walls that didn’t make it into this post! San Francisco has so much color everywhere, easily more urban art than NYC. Want to see more of what I mean? Check out this post from a SF visit several years ago:
Nice to have you back. Hope you had a fun-filled trip. When we go back to Dallas-Ft Worth, we will be looking for street art. Don’t know what to expect to find, but we’ll see. Thanks for the trip to SF. Last time I was there I went to Haight and Ashbury expecting to find some old hippies singing folk songs. I found a Ben and Jerry’s so I had some ice cream.
