Every Friday I feature some fleeting moments from my week that made me stop and think, “I’m so lucky to live in NYC!” And maybe some others that made me think, “Bahaha this city is ridiculous and I love it.” Here we go for (the longest week ever?) the first week of April…
It’s April and it’s forecasted to snow this weekend. So I shouldn’t be surprised the Rockefeller Ice Skating rink is still open. You still have 10 days to go channel your inner Adam Rippon in this iconic location. It officially closes April 17th (if it’s still snowing then…I don’t…can’t…ahhhh). Okay, but the best part of this photo is that I shot it on Easter and you can spot the Easter Bunny chilling out after delivering all his eggs!
On 8th Avenue in Midtown on a Thursday night, I looked up and saw a light show in a otherwise unremarkable office building. I saw no signs of life on the floor, heard no music. I have no idea what was going on (an exercise class? Karen in HR’s 50th birthday?) but it made me smile.
Flowers in Bryant Park!! They are still in pots…Why? Is it so they can survive the predicted snow tomorrow? The minute it starts falling tomorrow, with a hoard of park workers run out, grab these daffodils and carry them to shelter? I don’t know, but I’m going to pretend that’s the case.
I visited a New York office this week where this was the scene when I stepped off the elevator. The Yeti was a statue, the dog was very much alive. I never got the full story, but it really took trying to be a cool, hip office to…another level.
If you go shopping at the DSW, Burlington Coat Factory, or Whole Foods in Union Square, this is your view. Grocery shopping and trying to find the perfect spring shoe are both frustrating tasks, but looking out at the gorgeous (even if gray) city scape makes errands almost romantic.
Those were some interesting moments of my week! How was yours?
Loving your weekly minutes!

Oooooo wheeee the view from DSW is once of my favorites! I should go there sometime just to peep this Union Square slice of heaven! Also OMG the poor puppy /Yeti scene made me do a double take! Love this!
